Went to NY for a month and came back for a week (lost my internet), went up to Revelstoke, then came back home :D<br /><br />I'll be uploading my "Picture-A-Day" directly to Flickr instead of posting them individually here. It's just too much work haha.pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-69414243903826806612010-06-06T00:09:00.000-07:002010-06-06T00:21:55.030-07:00Lynn CanyonBefore I "forget" to update again, here are some photos of my hike to Lynn Canyon with a couple of friends. The place is called La Notte, a cozy little Italian restaurant. Every Tuesdays, they have a special deal: All pastas are $7.99 (original prices range from $10-$16). The portions were very generous as well. It is a pretty good place to eat.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4640947727/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4036/4640947727_57c40429ae_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4640941461/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 381px; height: 252px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4021/4640941461_49b7b3f5fa_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4641548992/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4014/4641548992_2715ff4eca_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4641548920/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4003/4641548920_1a4f356ab4_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div>pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-40483678765219968672010-05-24T22:49:00.000-07:002010-05-24T22:50:49.009-07:00Sweet Potato Baked Fries<div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4637640659/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 271px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4017/4637640659_dcc3db8c0a_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Nikon D5000, 18-55mm</span></span><br /></div>pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-37359729172420398022010-05-24T22:46:00.001-07:002010-05-24T22:49:44.261-07:00Bro's Aquarium<div style="text-align: left;"><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4638250540/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 249px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/4638250540_98dd698f0f_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Nikon D5000, 18-55mm</span></span><br /></div><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4638250472/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 249px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4065/4638250472_3c0ec0bfc3_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Nikon D5000, 18-55mm</span></span><br /></div>pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-40527296990857325442010-05-22T23:50:00.000-07:002010-05-24T22:46:08.309-07:00BummedWork is retarded...<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4637640729/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 284px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4017/4637640729_c00f42573d_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70</span><br /></div>pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-45444016936407273272010-05-21T23:48:00.000-07:002010-05-22T00:16:07.993-07:00Muffins, Cookies, and GDMA loveYesterday was another volunteer night for me at the GDMA grad show. Lots of booze were served :) Got home last night at around 1am, took a shower, and then passed out so that's why there was no picture for yesterday...but I got them here now!<br /><br />I was really bored Tuesday night, so I decided that I will make muffins for my mom on Wednesday before I head out to meet up with Terri. I didn't take any photos of me making the muffin but I took a picture of the finished product:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Banana Walnut Muffin With Raisins</span></span><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628145995/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3356/4628145995_b415f1d100_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Nikon D5000, 18-55mm</span></span><br /></div><br />Well, I really wanted to bake something that's orange flavoured...so I made some cookies the next day before heading out for another volunteer event.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Orange Chocolate Butter Cookies</span></span><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628146031/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4009/4628146031_c6524f7f1e_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628749082/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 251px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4628749082_420584eee0_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Nikon D5000, 18-55mm</span></span><br /></div><br />So for the GDMA class of 2010, their title for the show is "Take A Closer Look." What it is, is that it revolves around the growth of bugs. I thought it was cleverly thought out and it has great design and illustrations of bugs considering how much bugs scare the crap out of me.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628749178/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 506px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4069/4628749178_8dee0c4294_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70<br /><br /></span></span><span style="font-weight: bold;">Can you guess what these are?</span><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628146231/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 284px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/4628146231_6542ae0e76_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70<br /><br /></span></span></div>And of course their grad show wouldn't have been a grad show if they didn't serve their famous mini (dairy free) cupcakes that raised most of their grad funds! They are very delicious and don't worry, these don't contain bugs.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628146213/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 284px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/4628146213_204fdf849f_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70</span></span><br /><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;"></span></span></div><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;"><br /></span></span>And lastly, yesterday's event was the speaker series with Paula Scher of Pentagram and Eric Karjaluoto of smashLAB. Personally, I thought Paula could have done a better job in her presentation but I'll forgive her this time since she flew into Vancouver in the morning. Eric is amazing though. His talk is very interesting and is kind enough to stay after the event to chat with everyone.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4628749140/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 285px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/4628749140_74e4b75f59_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70<br /><br /><br /><br /></span></span></div>Congrats grads of 2010! I cracked the shell of around 50 walnuts and one of them decided to give me a cut on my finger :( It was after I was done, that I found out mom needed me to help her make these "Chive Box" (direct translation) so I had to put my muffins on hold.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4620468723/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 505px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3367/4620468723_9cb08f06c7_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70</span></span><br /></div></div><br /></div>On the way to picking up some ingredients for the muffins (and driving practice), I came across a fat duck sleeping underneath a tree, a yellow flowered tree that looked trippy from afar, and a family of tree bears!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4620463275/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 505px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3334/4620463275_a588a3e428_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4620463115/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 285px;" src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4050/4620463115_978fa471a3_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4620463227/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 380px; height: 506px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3345/4620463227_dd070c4894_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70</span></span><br /></div>pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2276076829940771382.post-30289117024820352072010-05-17T21:52:00.000-07:002010-05-17T21:56:46.946-07:00My scoop of heavenI LOVE green tea! It is a copy and print centre along with FedEx shipping. Here is a rant about a man who ruined my perfectly good morning.<br /><br />(warning...it is very long...)<br /><br />Customer came in around 9:20am requesting to print some images and photocopy a black and white sheet. I was occupied with another customer, and a couple of jobs within the store already. I told the man that he can go on the self serve computers to print out his photos for 20 cents per minute and 59 cents per print, and I can help him with the photocopy. He says no and asks me to print it for him.<p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">I told him it is $2 per file to open and process it to the printer. He says OK, he only has one file.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">When I opened up the USB, the man told me the folder in which the "file is in"...there were 3 JPG files. I then told him that he has 3 files and it is $2 per file. He says "No, I only have one file." I then told him that he does not have 1 file. He has 1 folder that has 3 files within it. He does not seem to understand. I repeatedly explained it to him the difference between a folder and a file.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">A phone call came, and I was alone on the floor. I asked the man to excuse me so I can answer the phone. When I came back, I explained it to him one more time that I will charge him $2 per file (while pointing to the JPG files on the screen). He says "OK just print it."</p> <p class="MsoNormal">I send the image to print and then carried on to help him photocopy his black and white copies. I showed him where and how to place his hardcopy in the machine and where to enter the quantity. He wanted 20 double-sided black and white copies.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">When his copies came out, he complained about how the print quality is not the same as his hardcopy. I explained to him that whenever you make a photocopy from a hardcopy, the quality will go down. I also made another copy for him with the "Photo" setting. He did not like it better than the first set. He then says that the first set will do fine.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">All the jobs he requested to have done was finished at this point. We proceeded to the cash register.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">When I told him the price, along with the break-down, he became curious as to why I am charging him $6 for the rip fee. I explained it to him that he has 3 files and each file is $2 to process. He asks me to charge him just 1 of the fee. I told him no that's our standard fee. Then he complains that he only has 1 file (by which he meant 1 folder). I, again told him no. He has 1 folder and there are 3 files within it. He becomes angry.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">He says he should not be charged this much. He then carries on to complain about the quality of the black and white prints and how the quality on them were poor as well.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Following his complaint, I explained it to him, again, that photocopying a hardcopy will downgrade the quality. He then says that it prints so nicely at home on his home printer and asks why it is not good here. Just my attempt at creating an old-ish looking photograph. There was an awful glare on the left side because I was silly enough to take this photo inside of the car with the window rolled up. Not satisfied with the colours of the trees but I quite like the greenish-blue colour of the clouds tho.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Sony CyberShot DSC-T70</span></span><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/pikography/4588012155/"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 379px; height: 270px;" src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3324/4588012155_dde6d2094f_o.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br />Btw, went to watch Iron Man 2 today. I thought it was good, but I prefer the first Iron Man movie better. Dunno why. Anyhow, there's a short clip at the end of the credits so stay if you're not in a rush to get out of the theatre.pikochanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177095418143593111noreply@blogger.com0
